Why are Integrative Psychotherapy sessions online?

There are lots of reasons why I only offer online Integrative Psychotherapy sessions:
  • Reduced travel time and cost for you
  • Prices have been fixed (have not increased) since January 2020
  • Many clients prefer the privacy of their own home
  • For young people – sessions are during the school day
    • Because many young people find it difficult (both emotionally and physically overwhelming) to have a full day at school and then an hour of therapy afterwardsOften parents choose either the first or last session of the day so their child is present for the majority of the school dayMany young people like being in their own space during a session and find it helpful to have access to their own things (such as cuddly toys, drawing pads and pens, or anything else they want in a session)They are tailored to the young person, for example if they do not want to face the camera they don’t have to, or if they don’t want to talk they can type into the chat boxParents/guardians can be invited back for the last 10 minutes of a session for a ‘debrief’ should this be something the young person would like to have happen
    • Young people are pleasantly surprised that the sessions are nothing like the online lessons they had from school during the pandemic.

What is hypnotherapy like?

Will I lose control?

No! You’re always in control and can’t be made to do or say anything you don’t want to.

Am I unconscious or asleep when I am hypnotised?

No! You’re not unconscious or asleep. You’re aware of everything being said to you. You can still see, hear, feel, smell, taste and speak. You may remember alot of what I’ve said to you.

What will being hypnotised feel like?

It’s different for everyone, as everyone is unique. There’s no such thing as a hypnotised feeling; being in a trance is a natural, normal state of mind (the state between conscious awareness and sleep). Some people feel the same as normal, while others feel more relaxed and refreshed.

What happens in sessions?

After you’ve had your 15 minute Discovery Call (book your FREE Discovery Call here), your other sessions are 1 hour long.

In your first session, we will talk about your goals of therapy for your sessions. Your goals and your needs will determine what type of therapy tools and techniques we use.

Your other sessions are tailored to your individual needs, in that session, but always with the aim to move you towards your goals of therapy. We discuss if there is anything holding you back or blocking you from achieving your goals or next steps, and give you space to explore how you can continue to progress towards these goals.
